Kerry O'Brien Law Office
Overview
The Law Office of Kerry O’Brien, based in the Los Angeles area, specializes in Personal Injury and Uninsured Employers Workers Compensation. Kerry recognized the need for a comprehensive redesign of his existing website, which was built on a WordPress platform and presented usability challenges for visitors. Our primary objective was to elevate the website's design and user-friendliness, with the ultimate goal of achieving a prominent presence in Google searches for law firms in the LA area.

Goal
My focus centered on modernizing the website's design and enhancing its accessibility, particularly on mobile devices. While much of the content was already in place, the project called for a complete overhaul to create a visually appealing and intuitive interface. Additionally, a critical aspect of our strategy was to optimize the website for SEO performance. Drawing from my expertise in this area, I tailored the pages and content to maximize their search visibility.
Process
This web project presented its share of challenges, especially as the client was located in another city and had a demanding schedule as a busy lawyer. Nevertheless, he entrusted me with the task of revitalizing his website, and I was aligned with his vision for the redesign. Once the revamped site was launched, we planned to embark on marketing efforts to attract more clients.
To enhance the website's functionality, we migrated it from WordPress to the Wix Content Management System (CMS). Although initially intimidated by the unfamiliar Wix platform, I found it surprisingly user-friendly and easy to learn. With well-organized content, I could have completed a project of this caliber within a weekend.
Final Design
The final design features a comprehensive homepage offering essential information while providing access to secondary pages that delve deeper into specific legal services. The homepage provides quick access to contact information, phone numbers, and a contact form, ensuring that visitors can swiftly connect with the firm. The service-specific pages offer in-depth information on various legal topics, aiding users in making informed decisions and seeking legal advice.
Reflection
I am genuinely pleased with the outcome of this project, which pushed me out of my comfort zone and equipped me with proficiency in a new CMS platform. This experience has added another valuable tool to my repertoire, enabling me to better serve potential clients. While there is a learning curve associated with Wix, it is akin to assembling blocks on a page and editing text, similar to working with a Microsoft Word document, making it easily manageable for both clients and myself.
